We urge you all to take advantage of this extra time to create something. So, what actually are the MATs?

MAT stands for “Mass Art Trade” – a group art trade. This involves interpreting a theme, and drawing or painting (digitally) a piece for it. The entries will be judged, and voting will then begin. Everyone will have the chance to vote, and the artist with the most favoured piece will be able to choose the theme for the next art trade! (Note: this is not a popularity contest; it is meant to be fun!). There is a long runtime, so please try hard, and put your best efforts into your piece.

How long does it run from and till?

The art trade will run from:

What is the theme?

The theme for this MAT is to interpret “This could change the world”.

How shall I submit my piece once I’ve finished it?

First, submit it to the relevant category on deviantART. Then you can note the link to your piece to ~DigiBrush, with the subject of the note as “MAT”.

What criteria are there for our pieces?

You must create something new for this trade – this way everyone will get the same chance, and your entries will be properly suited to the theme.

The overall piece should be mostly digital painting. This involves using an art program such as Photoshop, Corel Painter, Artrage, or OpenCanvas. The use of textures or stock is allowed, but try not to make it too much of a photo manipulation.

Conclusion

At the conclusion of the MAT, we will announce which piece has received the most votes. The creator of said piece will get to choose the theme for the next MAT!

In addition, the artist of the piece which exhibits the most unique representation of the theme will win a 3 month sub!
